GMD Year 7 Soccer

After winning the Goulburn Murray District Soccer Carnival held in May Notre Dame College’s Year 7 team competed at the Hume Region Carnival held in Shepparton on 13 August.

In the Final, NDC the team was trailing 0-1 with only 5 minutes left on the clock. However, the team demonstrated true NDC “never give up” attitude and spirit and rallied to snatch victory with two late goals from Joseph Shay.

The results from the Hume Carnival were as follows:

Round 1 – NDC 6 def FCJ Benalla 0

Final – NDC 2 def Catholic College Wodonga 1

NDC’s best players were Joseph Shay, Zac Gale & Nathaniel Roe.

The team now moves through to the School Sport Victoria State Championships in Melbourne on 6 September.

Badminton

After winning both the Goulburn Murray District and Hume Region carnivals, our Intermediate Girls and Senior Boys Badminton teams headed down to Melbourne to compete at the School Sport Victoria State Championships last week. The results were as follows:

Intermediate Girls Results

Round 3: Suzanne Cory High School 6 def Notre Dame C 0
Finished 5th in the State.
Team members were Joslin Jo, Sharon Shelly, Lillian Philips, Elaine Shinto, Eva Boby.

Senior Boys Results

Round 2: Notre Dame C 6 def Leongatha SC 0
Round 3: Maribyrnong 6 def Notre Dame C 0
Finished 5th in the State.
